身體如何變老?

老化,是一個不爭的事實。究竟身體是如何邁向老化?

細胞層面上,隨活動水平下降,細胞損耗、凋謝,細胞修復速度慢,破壞快過建設,結構產生變化,令身體適應性減弱,導致機能衰退。

當肌肉纖維和神經細胞萎縮,連接骨頭和肌肉的韌帶肌腱變硬,肌肉就會失去彈性,柔軟度就會下降;肌肉會因繃緊、脫水、牽拉甚或萎縮而失去理想的長度及體積,拉扯到附近的關節。關節位置不當,一方面會壓迫關節結構,另一方面會改變關節的運動,令身體產生不同程度的代償,引起各種痛症問題。

當肌肉體積變細,肌肉流失,直接令新陳代謝率下降。脂肪代謝減慢,心肺功能變弱,身體協調性變差,最後就會有肥胖、短氣、易跌倒、肌力流失的情況出現。

所以每天30分鐘的活動,做伸展也好,肌力訓練也好,令身心處於活躍狀態,可延緩衰老,保持年輕。身老心不老,簡單一步,你做得到。



Aging is a must, but how does it affect our body?

In a normal situation, body cell will exhausts and deteriorates. When the rate of cell production is slower than the deterioration, structural change may occur, adaptation becomes weak, resulting in degeneration.

When muscle fibres and neurons shrink, connective tissues become stiff and the muscles are no longer elastic, hence decrease the flexibility. Once the flexibility is limited, muscles are not in its optimal length and size, joint positions and force production may alter and leads to chronic pain.

Muscle loss also slows down the metabolic rate. Fats are hard to consume, cardiorespiratory system degenerates, weakening of the body coordination will eventually leads to shortness of breath, low energy level and increased risk of falling.

A cue for aging is a 30 minutes daily exercise. Stretching, weight training, aerobics can do. As you are not only move your body, but also your soul and mind. Stay fit, stay young.
